Although the Buffalo Sabres are off from game action for the next five days, the team will have some decisions to make soon regarding their goaltending. Eric Comrie has said that he is 100 percent ready to return from injury, and it’s certainly a good sign that he’s been back in practice with the team.
At the same time, the Sabres (understandably) say he’s closer, but needs more practice. There is no designated date for his return, and the question at this point is: what happens now?
The next logical move for the Sabres seems to be sending Comrie down to the AHL’s Rochester Americans for a conditioning stint, once the NHL’s mandated holiday break is over.
