Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson is considered day-to-day with an injury for Team USA at the 2021 IIHF Men’s World Championships, currently being held in Riga, Latvia. The United States also lost their goaltender, Anthony Stolarz, who is done for the tournament.
Elsewhere, Sabres prospect JJ Peterka has now officially been added to the German roster, which means we’re likely to see him in game action soon. Elsewhere, Victor Olofsson scored for Sweden while Arttu Ruotsalainen recorded his first point of the tournament on a nice pass for an assist.
Anton Lundell gives Finland the go-ahead goal early in the second period.
