2018 NHL Draft: Buffalo Sabres select defenseman William Worge Kreu

The Buffalo Sabres ended their 2018 NHL Draft the same way they started it, by selecting a big-bodied Swedish defender. William Worge Kreu was the Sabres’ sixth and final draft pick this year, selecting him with the 187th pick.

Worge Kreu is listed at 6-foot-6 and 181 pounds, which is rather big for a hockey player. Last year, the average height in the NHL was around 6-foot-1, meaning Worge Kreu will be towering over most NHL players.

However, the average weight in the NHL is currently around 200 pounds. That means, while Buffalo’s new defenseman is five inches taller than the average player, he is also 20 pounds lighter than the average.
