BUFFALO, NY- With the holiday season underway, the University at Buffalo Division of Athletics and its student-athletes took part in its annual Adopt-a-Family charity event.
This year, UB took part in the Adopt-a-Family program through Baker Victory Preventive Services, which is a program that works with families referred to Baker Victory through Erie County Children and Families Services (OCFS), Children's Services (CS) or Child Protection Services (CPS). These families are experiencing difficulties, which may be related to parenting, interpersonal problems, educational issues, alcoholism, drug abuse, family and/or community violence, sexual abuse, etc.
As a department, 14 children/teens were adopted this winter and each team was responsible for purchasing the gifts listed by the child/teen assigned to them.
