Three Women’s Hoops Players Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

BUFFALO, NY – Three University at Buffalo women's basketball players have been named to the 2016 Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Among the 44 recipients, sophomores Liisa Ups, Katherine Ups and Mariah Suchan all earned the accolade for the first time in their respective careers. The three honorees ties a school record for most Academic All-MAC players in a single season as the Bulls also had three members during the 2014-15 campaign.

Earning captaincy as a sophomore, Liisa Ups enjoyed a strong second season at Buffalo as she appeared in 25 games while earning the start in a career-best 16 games.
