Strong Second Half Defense Propels Women’s Hoops To Win Over CMU, 67-56

BUFFALO, NY – Behind a season-high 29 points from senior JoAnna Smith, the University at Buffalo women's basketball team (14-4, 4-3 MAC) earned their third straight MAC victory on Saturday afternoon against the Central Michigan Chippewas at Alumni Arena, 67-56. The Bulls improved to 9-1 at Alumni Arena this season while handing the Chippewas their first conference loss of the season.

The difference in the game for the Bulls was the play of their defense, especially on Presley Hudson who was averaging 30.3 points in MAC games before only scoring eight on Saturday. The duo of Stephanie Reid and Gabi Bade were able to lockdown one of the best scorers in the conference as she turned the ball over five times in the game.
