Within hours of being released by Tampa Bay, UB Alumnus Jake Schum was signed by the Green Bay Packers.
Schum came to Buffalo the year after Green Bay running back James Starks graduated and moved onto the NFL. While punting three years for the Bulls he had 119 career punts for 38.7 average, while landing 24 inside the 20-yard line.
After going undrafted in 2013, Schum bounced around NFL camps. First with Cleveland, then Tampa, and then nearly winning the job with the New York Jets. In 2014 he tried out with the Bucs and the Jets once again.
