48 hours, four national championship appearances for UB Athletics, now all complete after Swimming and Diving sophomore Megan Burns failed to advance from the prelims in the 100 freestyle at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving National Championships in Atlanta, Georgia.
Following a 22nd-place finish in 22.33 in the 50 free on Thursday, Burns was seeded a bit lower in the field in today's event, and swam 48.97 for third in her heat, the sixth of nine.
It was a hair off her best time of the season, set at the MAC Championships at the end of February, but even that time wouldn't have been good enough to qualify for the consolation final, true of both her events this weekend.
