Burns' prelim time of 22.33 was her fastest non-relay split of the season, but fell short of advancing to the consolation.
Seeking to become UB's first All-American since Mallory Morrell in 2013, UB sophomore Megan Burns found herself today in the same event as Morrell, just a few weeks after breaking her predecessors school record.
Though Burns swam a non-relay season best of 22.33 in her preliminary heat today, she failed to match her 22.16 seed time set in the first leg of a relay at the MAC Championships, and ultimately finished 22nd, two-tenths of a second away from a spot in the consolation.
