One season out of Matt Weiser’s shadow was enough for UB tight end Mason Schreck to get drafted into the NFL.
In the last round, with the 251st pick, the Cincinnati Bengals drafted Schreck. He was two players away from the “Mr. Irrelevant” title given to the last player drafted.
He spent much of his career behind Matt Weiser. who was signed as an UDFA by the Chargers last season. During Schreck’s senior year he landed on the the mid-season watch list for the John Mackey Award.
On the season Schreck caught 59 passes for 651 yards and four touchdowns.
