April 24, 2017 Sophomore Mercedes Losada Rubio won both of her matches in straight sets this past weekend as the Bulls won their fifth straight match and clinched the #3 seed in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament. She opened the weekend on Friday at fifth singles with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Alejandra Barcelo Almoyna of Eastern Michigan and then helped the Bulls to a 4-3 win over Toledo on Sunday as she again won in straight sets, this time defeating Megan Miller, 6-2, 6-2. Junior Vidit Vaghela went a perfect 3-0 this past weekend at second singles as the Bulls capped off a perfect regular season and clinched a MAC Regular Season title.
