Lantry and Gunning Advance to Day Two of Midlands

EVANSTON, ILBryan Lantry and Jake Gunning have advanced to day two of the 55th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships hosted by Northwestern on Friday night. The Bulls have 12 wrestlers competing in one of the nation's premiere wrestling tournaments.

Lantry won all three of his matches to advance to Saturday's semifinals. Lantry defeated Giovanni Ghione of Penn, 11th-seeded Dresden Simon of Central Michigan and third-seeded Korbin Myers of Edinboro en route to Saturday. He will face second-seeded Scott Delvecchio of Rutgers in the semifinals.

Gunning blanked Michigan's Zack Nemec, 7-0, in his opening bout before dropping a 5-3 decision to ninth-seeded Shawn Strech of Purdue in his next match.
