BUFFALO, NY – Freshman goalkeeper Emily Kelly was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon. Kelly has now earned the weekly honor twice in her young UB career while as a team, Buffalo has earned the award three straight times as Tess Ford was picked last week.
Kelly continued her strong play in goal for the Bulls this weekend as she earned her sixth straight win as she secured two saves in the 3-1 victory over St. Bonaventure on Friday night. The Wilson, NY native made a pair of key saves in the second half to secure the win for the Bulls, their first six-match winning streak in regulation since 1999.
