BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's soccer freshman goalkeeper Emily Kelly was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. This marks the first time in her UB career Kelly has earned the weekly honor and she is the first UB player this season.
The freshman keeper continued her strong play this weekend as she helped guide the Bulls to a perfect 2-0 weekend with a pair of shutout victories over Cornell and Albany. She has now recorded three straight clean sheets and owns a shutout streak of 328:40 minutes, the second longest streak in school history.
