Derek Brim and Ed Young were both selected in the inaugural draft for the new Major League football league.
In 2012 the Brim, a Junior, stepped in UB's defensive backfield as an injury replacement, making the final five starts of the season. On the year he had 47 tackles (33 solo) including seven unassisted tackles against Pittsburgh. During the following season Brim made 58 tackles and forced two fumbles.
After his senior season he spent some time in the Buffalo Bills spring training camp.
Brim was drafted by MLFB coach Larry Kirksey. Most recently has was the wide receivers coach for the Houston Texans.
