Four UB Athletics teams walked into a meeting Monday morning silent and confused.
They all walked out heartbroken and stunned.
President Satish Tripathi stood in front of four teams at 8 a.m. Monday morning and told them their athletic careers at UB were coming to an end. Men’s soccer, baseball, rowing and men’s swimming and diving sat in the Center for the Arts Drama room blindsided by the news that their teams would be cut from UB Athletics, effective at the end of the spring 2017 season.
“It was just kind of jaw dropping,” said Charlie Sobieraski, a junior baseball player.
