BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo junior Caleb Covell was named Mid-American Conference Runner of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning. Covell collected his first weekly recognition of the season after a strong performance at the Toledo Rockets Invite on Friday, an event that featured multiple MAC teams and it served as a preview of the MAC Championships.
Covell earned the victory in the men's 6K event in 18:33.00, a strong finishing time after sitting out all of last season for the Bulls. The victory for Covell highlighted an impressive opening weekend for the Bulls as the UB men's team took home second place overall in their first event of the season with the women's squad taking home fourth place.
