Buffalo beating Akron by 20 was a bit less surprising than dismantling ball state, none the less a very satisfying sight.
UB built a 27-7 lead before the Zips made their first field goal, with only 7:23 left in the first half.
After that Akron really was never in the game. Several times in the second half UB led by 28 points. The lead topped off at 29 when when Davonta Jordan dunked the ball with 8:07 remaining. The shot put the Bulls up 75-47.
After that the Bulls went deeper into their bench and Akron collected themselves, the Zips closed the 29 point deficit down to 22 on a pair of Jimond Ivey free throws at the 3:03 mark.
