BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo head volleyball coach Scott Smith has announced the addition of Long Beach State transfer Monika Simkova for the upcoming 2019 season.
A native of Malacky, Slovakia, Simkova will have three years of eligibility remaining after redshirting this past season. A 6-1 outside hitter, Simkova played in 23 matches and made eight starts as a freshman in 2017. She averaged 1.51 kills, 0.54 digs, and 0.35 blocks per set during the year, notching a career-best 12 kills against San Diego State.
Simkova arrived as Long Beach State after a distinguished career back home where she has been a recurring member of the Slovakian National Team.
