EAST LANSING, MI – The University at Buffalo wrestling team dropped a hard-fought dual at Michigan State, 28-12, on Wednesday night. The loss snapped the Bulls' three game winning streak.
Derek Spann earned the first points for the Bulls with an 11-5 decision over Anthony Tutolo at 133 lbs. A late four-point near fall by Spann was the difference in the match. Spann stayed perfect on the season in duals, improving to 5-0.
At 149, Jason Estevez suffered a two-point takedown with just 20 seconds left to turn a 6-5 victory into a 7-6 defeat and gave the Spartans a 10-3.
