YPSILANTI, MI – The University at Buffalo wrestling team dropped a Mid-American Conference dual at Eastern Michigan, 26-10, on Friday night. It was the Bulls' fourth straight dual loss.
Kyle Akins led things off with an 8-2 decision over Tomas Gutierrez. The Bulls' redshirt-junior improved to 9-3 in duals on the season with the win. However, the Eagles won the next seven duals to take a commanding lead in the dual.
Joe Ariola got the Bulls back on track with a 19-6 major decision over Jared Langley at 197 lbs.
In a rematch of the 2017 MAC heavyweight title match, Jake Gunning defeated Gage Hutchinson, 5-2, to improve to improve to 9-1 in duals on the year.
