Solomon Jackson, a UB sophomore defensive end, passed away last night at Buffalo General Hospital after a medical emergency at practice last week.
Jackson came to Buffalo from Stone Mountain, Georgia. His junior year he helped lead the team to a 15-0 record and a state championship. Jackson was seen as a leader by his teammates and was a team captain
A week ago Monday, Jackson was taking part in a team conditioning session. At some point during the session, Solomon experienced a "medical emergency" and was taken via ambulance to Buffalo General. At the time UB released this statement:
"Solomon Jackson, a member of UB’s football team, was transported to the hospital this morning after a medical emergency at a team conditioning session.
