Even though Sammy Watkins did not practice at all last week the Bills waited until Sunday before deciding he would be inactive for the game. This week Buffalo made the decision at the conclusion of Friday’s practice declaring Watkins out for Sunday’s game at New England.
“He’s out. That’s just the way it is,” said head coach Rex Ryan. “We know he’s not playing. If we thought he could go obviously we’d play him regardless of whether he practiced or not. He doesn’t feel good enough to play.”
Ryan reiterated that it’s a pain tolerance issue for Watkins and that risk of re-injury is not the reason for the receiver being unable to practice or play.
