The Houston Texans have hired Brian Gaine as their new general manager, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Along with hiring Gaine, the Texans also extended the contract of coach Bill O'Brien, the source said, with the general manager and coach now both on five-year contracts.
Gaine returns to the Texans after one year as the Buffalo Bills' vice president of player personnel. He previously served as Houston's player personnel director in 2015 and 2016.
O'Brien, who is 31-33 in four seasons with the Texans, had one year remaining on his contract prior to the extension.
