In the United States Military, a gold star is the symbol used to commemorate an individual whose life was lost in the line of duty. These heroes are fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters. Willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, they are brave, selfless and undeniably admirable.
For the families of the fallen, or Gold Star families, coping with this loss can be extremely difficult. To help the survivors, each of the military’s five branches offer specialized Gold Star services to provide support that meets their needs.
Recently, the Buffalo Bills hosted a group of survivor children for a tour around Ralph Wilson Stadium.
