Sean McDermott: Buffalo Bills need more from Marcell Dareus

Through two games of the 2017 NFL season, the Buffalo Bills (2-1) boast the league’s stingiest defense, allowing only 12.3 points per game. The Bills feature the sixth-best total defense (allowing 278.3 yards per game), and have allowed the seventh-fewest rushing yards per game (75.3 yards/game), and the 10th-fewest yards through the air (203 yards/game). All of this is remarkable, considering Leslie Frazier’s 4-3 defense is achieving these feats without the services of Marcell Dareus, Buffalo’s talented but often-troubled defensive tackle.

Dareus, the team’s highest-paid defensive player, has logged a grand total of ONE assisted tackle, with no sacks and no quarterback hurries.
