ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- It did not take a doctorate in reading between the lines to decipher the message Rex Ryan was attempting to send Monday, when the Buffalo Bills coach defended his decision to keep Tyrod Taylor as starting quarterback Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
"The reason [Taylor] is our starting quarterback is, in my opinion, he gives us the best opportunity to win, and that’s what we signed up for," Ryan said. "We’re trying to win these games, and that’s my opinion."
Asked if he arrived at the decision alone, Ryan said, "Well, that’s my opinion, when you ask about my opinion.
