EJ Gaines to start at RCB
It was leaning his way at the start of the week, but on Friday head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that EJ Gaines will be starting opposite rookie Tre’Davious White at cornerback.
“EJ will start,” said McDermott.
For Gaines it’s an impressive feat knowing he came to the Bills via trade in mid-August, and had to acclimate himself quickly not only to Buffalo’s defensive scheme, but to the new players around him on the defensive side of the ball.
This isn’t Gaines first starting job. He started 15 games as a rookie with the Rams, and 10 games last season after missing 2015 with a foot injury.
