NFL sacks leader Alexander injured vs. Patriots

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills starting outside linebacker Lorenzo Alexander suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday's game against the New England Patriots and was later ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Alexander pulled up limping after covering a Bills punt at the beginning of the second quarter.

The NFL's sacks leader, Alexander has 9.0 sacks in eight games. He became the NFL's first player since Jared Allen in 2011 to record at least one sack in each of the first seven games of a season.

Rookie first-round pick Shaq Lawson, playing in his second career game after being activated from the physically unable to perform list, replaced Alexander in the Bills' defense.
