Trae Elston suited up for the Buffalo Bills against the Miami Dolphins two weeks ago. He played eight special teams snaps but didn’t record a statistic. After being released by the Bills this week, Elston was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins who could use him against his former team this week.
This isn’t a Belichick-ian move to garner information about the upcoming opponent. Miami’s corresponding roster move was placing their special teams captain and sometimes-safety Michael Thomas on injured reserve.
Elston hasn’t done much for the Bills this season as the top two safeties, Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde, have stayed relatively healthy.
