“I became complacent.”
Brandon Spikes admitted to having the frame of mind that can cost NFL players their career. That complacency took hold of the linebacker in 2015. After signing a contract for a second stint with his original NFL club, the New England Patriots, Spikes was involved in a hit-and-run accident that left a family of three injured. He eventually plead guilty and was given a year of probation. He also served a four-game league-imposed suspension in 2015, though he had no team to play for at the time.
“A lot of things could’ve happened that day,” said Spikes of his car accident.
