The only player on the Buffalo Bills roster not in attendance at Thursday’s open of training camp was defensive tackle Kyle Peko. After the team announced he was excused for personal reasons, Peko took to Instagram to explain what was happening.
The statement revealed that Peko’s wife, Giuliana, was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin lymphoma, or cancer of the lymph nodes. The lymph nodes are part of the body’s immune system.
Peko was signed to Buffalo’s practice squad in September 2018, spending the entire season there after his release from the Denver Broncos practice squad on September 11th.
