The Buffalo Bills have signed rookie quarterback Josh Allen to a contract, per ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. The Bills confirmed the signing a few minutes after the initial report with a tweet:
With players reporting to training camp today, this means that the Bills have their full rookie class under contract as camp commences.
Allen was Buffalo’s first pick in the 2018 draft, chosen seventh overall after a series of trades by Bills general manager Brandon Beane. The team is hoping that he can translate his athletic gifts and arm strength into a long-term career as Buffalo’s franchise quarterback, but he’s expected to begin his career on the sidelines with the Bills bringing him along slowly.
