Following the trade of QB Matt Cassel Tuesday, the Bills were left with an open roster spot. On Wednesday they called safety Jonathan Meeks up from the practice squad.
Meeks, a former fifth-round pick (2013), found himself at a crowded position group this preseason and Bacarri Rambo and Duke Williams were the players who landed the backup safety roles behind starters Corey Graham and Aaron Williams.
With Aaron Williams’ status for Sunday’s game in doubt, the Meeks call up provides Buffalo with the necessary depth at the position.
