Head coach Sean McDermott finalized one of the more head-scratching positional battles on the Buffalo Bills Monday, saying that John Miller won the job as the team’s starting right guard. Miller had been competing for the opening with veteran free agent Vladimir Ducasse.
In his Monday morning press conference, McDermott characterized the competition between Miller and Ducasse as “fun to watch.” Hardcore Bills fans and casual observers alike have found the competition to be a one-sided affair in Miller’s favor for, essentially, the duration of the competition, but maybe McDermott saw an additional burst of effort in Miller’s play as a result of having “his” job questioned.
