Wide receiver Christian Kirk’s time in Duval County comes to an end after three seasons catching passes for the Jacksonville Jaguars. ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on March 5 that the Jaguars are set to release Kirk, and will save more than $10.4 million against their 2025 salary cap.
This move was seen by some as obvious, given Kirk’s $15.5-million base salary this coming season but no guaranteed money. Instead of paying that, the Jaguars instead choose to move on and eat the lower sum of $13.65 million in dead cap.
Releasing Christian Kirk will save the Jaguars over $10,4 million agains the cap.
