Entering the 2025 season, all NFL teams needed to have their top 51 players under the salary cap by the start of the new league year, which began March 12 at 4 p.m. Eastern.
With the NFL’s salary cap set at $279.2 million, an increase of $23.8 million from 2024, the Bills were still approximately $10.5 million over the cap.
Over the last couple of weeks the Bills announced some roster moves that freed up cap space heading into the new league year. They released EDGE Von Miller, extended QB Josh Allen, WR Khalil Shakir, DE Greg Rousseau, and LB Terrel Bernard.
