Goodwin, Salas offer improved supporting roles

The headlines all week centered on how effective Sammy Watkins would be in Thursday’s game, but it proved to be two of the Bills secondary options that would give the New York Jets defense trouble.

Marquise Goodwin scored the game’s first touchdown by beating Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis on an 84-yard grab on third-and-12 to put the Bills up, 7-3 early.

It was Goodwin’s first touchdown since November 2013 against the Jets and he also set a career-high with two catches for 112 yards on Thursday.

“That was definitely something we talked about going into the game,” Tyrod Taylor said of taking shots downfield.
