Free agent S Robert Blanton visits Bills

The Bills closed out a busy week with their fifth free agent visit. Buffalo hosted Minnesota free agent safety Robert Blanton Friday, the first defensive player the club has brought in thus far in free agency.

Blanton, 26, is a four-year NFL veteran, but has been a full-time starter at safety in just one of his previous four seasons with the Vikings. He started 13 games in 2014 and finished third on the team in tackles with 111 and had his only fumble recovery that season against the Bills.

The Notre Dame product played primarily on special teams last season serving as the backup strong safety behind Minnesota starter Andrew Sendejo.
