Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane announced on Friday, March 14 that newly signed defensive end Mike Hoecht and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi will each serve six-game suspensions to start the 2025 season for violating the NFL’s PED policy. Those penalties carry significant financial consequences.
Per Spotrac, Hoecht is expected to forfeit approximately $1.47 million during the suspension:
- $1 million in base salary ($3,000,000 / 18 weeks * 6 Game suspension)
- $293,000 in signing bonus
- $180,000 in per-game active roster bonuses ($30,000 per game)
Because Hoecht’s suspension was handed down after his deal was finalized, the Bills will now receive cap relief from the forfeited money.
