Dolphins rule Tua Tagovailoa out, prep Skylar Thompson to start at QB

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has not been cleared by doctors to return to the field from his concussion and has been ruled out for Sunday's wild-card playoff game against the Buffalo Bills, coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday.

The Dolphins are preparing for Skylar Thompson to be the starter. Teddy Bridgewater is still working his way back from a dislocated pinkie finger on his throwing hand, McDaniel said.

Thompson started at quarterback for the Dolphins against the New York Jets in Week 18, leading them to a playoff-clinching win that snapped a five-game losing streak.
