In a surprise to some Buffalo Bills running backs coach and assistant head coach Anthony Lynn has been asked to interview with both the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers for their respective head coaching vacancies. Though there is a good chance Lynn is only being looked at to fulfill the Rooney Rule need for these teams, anything can happen with an impressive interview.
The Rooney Rule requires that NFL teams must interview at least one minority candidate for head coaching positions. Mike Tomlin of the Steelers was originally thought to be just a Rooney Rule interview, now he is a Super Bowl winning coach.
