The Buffalo Bills found themselves searching for a new third quarterback following their preseason opener against the Chicago Bears. Head coach Sean McDermott informed reporters that quarterback Shane Buechele suffered a neck injury and would miss a significant amount of time.
As such, general manager Brandon Beane and McDermott had to discuss their options, with just two weeks to go until the regular season. The team needs a third quarterback to adequately fill and evaluate their full 90-man roster. Additionally, that third quarterback often plays the important role of emergency QB on the practice squad, and functions as the scout team quarterback in preparation for weekly opponents.
