Buffalo Bills S Damar Hamlin ready to prove his worth as Week 1 starter

During his press conference before the team’s midweek practice, Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott named Damar Hamlin as one of the team’s starting safeties for Sunday’s home opener against the Arizona Cardinals.

With that announcement, Hamlin now takes the next step in his incredible comeback from an on-field cardiac arrest later diagnosed as commotio cordis.

“The opportunity was there, and he took advantage of it and was consistent,” McDermott said about what he had seen out of the twenty-six-year-old safety during the preseason.
