The Buffalo Bills nearly fumbled away a comeback opportunity in the third quarter against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, Taiwan Jones recovered the ball, and took a shot to the head in the process.
Jones lost his helmet while trying to recover Marcus Murphy’s fumbled punt, and he took a helmet to the forehead while in his own end zone. Jones’ sweatband was covered in blood while he was helped off the field.
The Chargers were assessed a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness on the play, and since the ball was recovered in a “kicking state,” Buffalo kept the ball.
