The Buffalo Bills decided to release receiver Philly Brown today as the final step to their 53-man roster shortly after cutting second-year running back Jonathan Williams and free agent acquisition, Gerald Hodges.
Brown signed with the Bills as a free agent from the Carolina Panthers this offseason and seemed like a lock to make the team following the release of Rod Streater. A day later and he is looking for work. The Bills added wide receiver Kaelin Clay yesterday in a trade with the Panthers. Clay essentially takes Brown’s spot on the receiver depth chart.
