Buffalo Bills quarterbacks Tyrod Taylor, T.J. Yates return to practice

After incurring respective concussions in the Buffalo Bills’ third game of the preseason, quarterbacks Tyrod Taylor and T.J. Yates were out practicing with their teammates Monday for the first time since they each were respectively diagnosed.

Taylor and Yates on the practice field indicates that each is the final step of the the league’s “Play Smart Play Safe” five-step concussion protocol. Step five enables team physicians to clear a player for full football activity, including contact once the said “player-patient has established his ability to participate in non-contact football activity including team meetings, conditioning and non-contact practice without recurrence of signs and symptoms and his neurocognitive testing is back to baseline.
