Members of the Buffalo Bills came out to support the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night for their season opener against the Montreal Canadiens. Kyle Williams and LeSean McCoy were both in attendance to cheer on the team who lost 3-2 in a shootout.

Jason Pominville scored twice in his return to the Sabres but it wasn’t quite enough at the end of the day. The game marked Phil Housley's first behind the bench as an NHL head coach. The former Sabre and Hall-of-Fame defenseman was well-received with one of the loudest ovations during introductions.
