The Buffalo Bills have placed two players on injured reserve, officially ending their 2018 season. Linebacker Matt Milano and cornerback Taron Johnson, key contributors to the defense this season, will not play again in 2018.
Milano, a second-year linebacker, had surgery to repair a broken fibula on Monday. He suffered the gruesome injury in Sunday’s loss against the New York Jets. Milano was having a breakout campaign, amassing 78 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 7 pass breakups, 3 fumble recoveries, and 3 interceptions. Head coach Sean McDermott said that he expects Milano to be ready for offseason activities.
