On Monday, head coach Sean McDermott provided a not-so-great injury update to the Buffalo Bills roster as his team begins preparations for their third and final preseason game.
McDermott’s update, which read like a roll call in a long-term rehabilitation center, came along with the announcement that the Bills will not be playing any starters in Saturday’s game at Highmark Stadium. The decision to sit the first-string players is due to the number of injuries across the team, although McDermott said that there were never plans to play quarterback Josh Allen.
The move was two-fold: keep the starters safe and have a better opportunity to evaluate which players will make the final roster cut and be able to adequately fill in the gaps in the roster.
